In A Year of Dandelions you play as a first time home owner who has just purchased an acreage of land with an old cottage and a decrepit barn. Each day you work on a task around the homestead or work to improve a skill set in hopes it will help you reach your future goal of running a self-sufficient homestead. At the end of each week, journal about the highlights and challenges of what happened during the week.

The game is played with a block tower set (aka Jenga), a six-sided die, a standard deck of playing cards and a journal and something to write with. Play time can be dependent on luck and how much writing you like to do—at the minimum, you will need at least an hour or be willing to spread the game over several shorter sessions—note that you will need to keep your block tower set up or at the least. memorize/record how many blocks are up and the stack configuration.

Written and laid out by Eller (ell0.itch.io).

Heavily inspired by Wretched & Alone by The Sealed Library/Chris Bissette.
